As I have now been in the Sudan for more than one cycle of 24 hours, and have managed to wrangle my way into other parts of the country, I feel justified in making a few summarial comments:
(a) the Sudan is sunny
(b) the Sudanese are fantastically friendly
(c) the Sudan is poor
(d) there are not very many white people/ foreigners here
(While I suppose I could gather most or all of these facts from a variety of easily available information sources, I would venture to say I feel them to be true much more than I knew them to be before. And in this derive my justification for expounding them so grandiosly.)
